A History Steeped in Industry.

As the first incorporated city in Canada, Saint John began as an early point of trade and defence for Acadia. In the late 1800s, the city had become a global shipbuilding hub, famously building and launching the Marco Polo. The site of the first Canadian labour union and the invention of the automated steam foghorn were more of Saint John's early industrial achievements. Spruce Lake Industrial Park is home to a large-scale barge facility. This facility features a large barge docking area with a large-scale wide/heavy duty roadway that connects to Spruce Lake Park and has 1 km access to major highways.
