Spruce Lake Barge Facility

The Spruce Lake Tidal Barge Facility consists of a heavy haul road built at a three percent gradient which leads to a vertical-faced, steel and concrete headwall in the Lorneville Harbour. There are 8.7 metres of depth during a mean tide event.

The access road has been designed to allow the conveyance of oversized loads with heavy haul equipment and multi-axle transporters. The access road is approximately 980 metres long, and 28 metres wide (shoulder to shoulder).

The Spruce Lake Barge Facility headwall structure has been designed for a 50 year service life.

The facility has four, 25 tonne mooring bollards and is equipped with two mooring/breasting dolphins.

The largest being 31 metres (100 feet) wide by 122 metres (400 feet) in length with a 21 foot draft. The smallest being 23 metres (75 feet) wide by 76 metres (250 feet) in length with a 15 foot draft.

The Spruce Lake Industrial Park has 10 hectares of laydown space close to the barge facility, perfect for any large size project.
